The Shiddiky Laboratory incorporates a non-hierarchical structure to ensure equity among lab members. We emphasize active collaboration among lab members, combined with engagement with other groups at Charles Sturt University (Orange Campus) and beyond, to accelerate the research momentum. Weekly journal club meetings are designed to facilitate brainstorming and maintain a healthy collaborative research environment in the laboratory.

We are looking for highly motivated and talented students PhD students to work on liquid biopsy technologies and point-of-care/on-site devices for medical, agricultural and environmental applications. The students will have opportunities to collaborate with chemists, nanotechnologists and biologists to deploy their devices and methods in in-vitro and in-vivo studies.
Upon CV screening and interview, we will support outstanding students for admission into the PhD program with a scholarship at Charles Sturt University. PhD opportunities with dedicated scholarships associated with particular grants and university-funded scholarships are available each year, both to domestic and international students.

Postdoctoral research opportunities arise from time to time e.g. via the ARC and industry-funded projects, etc. We are also keen to support talented early-career researchers who already acquired a fellowship from ARC and NHMRC to come to our lab as a postdoc to flourish his/her career.
