Dr Md. Ferdous Rahman is a physician-epidemiologist and emerging leader in public health, with a strong background in clinical medicine, infectious disease research, and implementation science. He holds an MBBS from the University of Dhaka and a Master of Public Health in Epidemiology from North South University (Bangladesh), where he earned a merit-based scholarship for advancing medical research. With over seven years of experience working at the intersection of health systems and vulnerable populations, Dr Rahman has led research on HIV, hepatitis, and mental health among people who inject drugs at the International Centre for Diarrhoeal Disease Research, Bangladesh (icddr,b). He has received advanced training from leading global institutions and has been recognized for both scientific excellence and public engagement, including being named one of The Daily Prothom Alo’s top 100 fiction writers. Currently based at the Shiddiky Laboratory at Charles Sturt University under the 2024 icddr,b-CSU Scholarship, his PhD research investigates the network dynamics of blood-borne infections to develop equitable, data-driven public health interventions for marginalized communities.
